Black Borniol Canvas 5m x 3m
A borniol is a fairly thick strip of black cotton or velvet fabric, of varying lengths and widths, which is found on film sets.
The term borniol is a term used in audiovisual and cinema, taking its name from the funeral directors Henri de Borniol who used these very opaque black fabrics.
These borniols are used by machinists to seal windows and make all openings opaque to light. They can also be used as background for interviews, provided they are clean, dust-free and wrinkle-free.
They are also used by the sound operator to change the sound environment of a room, to make it duller, to reduce a cathedral effect or excessive resonance.
